Los Angeles-based rock band Seven Foot Wave is making waves in the music world with their unique blend of rock that has been featured on radio stations such as KMXS 103.1 and WKDD 96 FM. Combining a rock chorus with a ska verse, or switching from a screaming overdriven guitar to a dance hall beat, the band has perfected its distinct California sound. In the past year, their songs “Better Than Sunshine” and “Hear” were included on the soundtrack for the hit MTV show Laguna Beach (DVD Season 1) and are currently available on iTunes.
Led by the inspired and driven singer/songwriter Michael Berns, Seven Foot Wave first captivated listeners when the demo of their song “Catalina” made its way onto the radio airwaves of KISL 88.3 FM in 2003. One year later, their debut album was carried by Tower Records. After a successful run of shows on the Hollywood club circuit, Seven Foot Wave has been seen performing for audiences of thousands at events like Radio Disney’s Easter Eggsplosion (2004) and Disney’s Jingle Jam (2003), and even opening for top act Jesse McCartney. In October 2005, the band was featured on KMXS 103.1 in Anchorage, Alaska, with a CD giveaway and interview with lead singer Berns.
Recently, in February 2006, Seven Foot Wave was nominated for “Best Indie Band” in the Southern California Music Awards (www.southerncaliforniamusicawards.com).
All of Seven Foot Wave’s music is available worldwide on iTunes. It can also be purchased on the Virgin Digital and Yahoo! Music online stores. The band’s official website is www.sevenfootwave.com. Fans can also connect with the band through their myspace site at www.myspace.com/sevenfootwave.
